Attendance In order to best benefit from our programs, a child must maintain at least an 80 percent
level of attendance. Further details on attendance can be discussed with the Director.
- Daily Arrival & Departure
Children may arrive between 7:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Those arriving after 9:45 a.m. will not be accepted unless cleared in advance. All children must be escorted into
the classroom by a parent or responsible adult. For departures, children may be picked up any time after 3:00 p.m. Children must be escorted out of the building by a parent or guardian.
The Center closes at 5:30 p.m. Most children are picked up by 4:40 p.m. Please notify the teacher in advance when planning to leave your child at the center after closing.
- Discipline
A child whose behavior interferes with progress of the group is separated from other children and placed in "time out," visible to staff members at all times. If a child is
put into "time out" three or more times, parents are contacted for a conference. If the child's behavior isn't corrected after the conference, the Center may suggest seeking outside intervention.
- Medication
Only prescription medication will be administered to children, and parents are required to bring a signed note with instructions for administering. Medication will
be administered on a temporary basis only.
- Accident
s They do happen! When an accident occurs, the situation and injury are quickly assessed. First Aid is administered and a registered nurse is consulted. Once
parent(s) are notified and permission obtained, the child is taken to the hospital.
- Health Screenings
Once a year, through Child Outreach, the Center provides health screenings in vision and hearing development. Only children with parental permission may participate in these screenings.
